Athletics

The Pirate Playbook, an in-depth look at Pirate athletics on ESPN 104.3 FM / 1400 AM, is on the air at 6 p.m. on Tuesday for the final time. Women's Golf

The Armstrong State University women's golf team will be in action at the NCAA Division II South Super Regional on Monday through Wednesday, May 8-10, in Columbia, S.C. The Pirates will play one round each day, and hope to be one of the top three teams who will advance to the NCAA DII National Championships on May 17-20 at Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio.

Softball

The Armstrong State University softball team will host one of two NCAA Division II Southeast Regionals on May 11-13 at the Armstrong State Softball Field.

The Pirates are the No. 3 seed and will face No. 6 seed Young Harris in a first-round game on Thursday at Noon. Second-seeded Carson-Newman and seventh-seeded Pfeiffer are the other two participating teams and they will play at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Play continues through Saturday, with the winner of the four-team regional advancing to the NCAA DII Southeast Super Regional on May 18-19 at the highest remaining seed.

Men's Tennis

The No. 7-ranked Armstrong State University men's tennis team won the NCAA Southeast Regional #2 with a 5-2 win over Georgia College and a 5-3 win over Lander on April 29-30. 

The Pirates now advance to the NCAA's Round of 16, where Armstrong State will take on No. 1-ranked West Florida on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.

Women's Tennis

No. 5-ranked Armstrong State University women's tennis will make its 23rd consecutive trip to the NCAA Round of 16 this week after defeating Tusculum, 5-1, and Flagler, 5-2, on May 1-2 in the NCAA Southeast Regional #2.

Armstrong State will face No. 18 Northeastern State in its first-round match at the NCAA Round of 16 on Wednesday at Noon.
