Chad Jackson accepted the Director of Athletic Communications position at Georgia Southern University on July 1, 2017.
Chad Jackson finished his eighteenth year at Armstrong State University as Director of Sports Communications for the 2016-17 athletic season. A Jacksonville, Fla., native, Jackson joined the Pirates from UNC Wilmington, where he served as assistant SID in 1998-99. He graduated from the University of North Florida in 1995 with his bachelor's of arts degree in history.
An active member of CoSIDA, Jackson has served as the vice-chair of the organization's New Media (formerly Technology) committee during his time at Armstrong State as well as presenting several table topics and panels at the organization's yearly convention. He served as the Southeast Region representative for the DII-SIDA board from the organization's inception until 2013 while also serving as an inaugural Division II representative on the NCAA's Media Advisory board.
Jackson also participates in the NCBWA's Southeast Region poll and awards committees, as well as serving as the D2CCA/CoSIDA Southeast Region volleyball coordinator. He has served as the NCAA's host SID for the Division II Men's and Women's Tennis Championships four of the last six years. In 2015, Jackson was honored with the Armstrong State University "Spirit of Armstrong" award, given to the Staff Member of the Year at the institution.
Jackson and his wife, Melissa - who is the interlibrary loan librarian at Armstrong's Lane Library - have been married for 16 years and the couple currently reside in Pooler.
