The AlphaGraphics Armstrong Student-Athlete of the Month for March 2015 is junior baseball player Tyler Graham.
AlphaGraphics and the Armstrong athletic department are teaming up to honor one student-athlete each month that best represents the Pirates' drive to succeed on the field and in the classroom. The Pirates have won the Peach Belt Conference Commissioner's Cup three straight years and the Presidential Academic Award the last two years and success can not happen without the efforts of our outstanding student-athletes.
A native of Dallas, Ga., Graham appeared in 10 games for the nationally-ranked Pirates during March and gave up just one earned run, while notching six saves. He struck out 12 batters in 11 2/3 innings of work and saved all three games in Armstrong's road Peach Belt Conference series sweep of GRU Augusta on March 20-21.
Graham was named the Peach Belt Conference's Pitcher of the Week and NCBWA Southeast Region Pitcher of the Week on March 17. Overall, Graham is 2-1 with a 1.52 ERA this season with a Peach Belt-leading nine saves, which also ranks second in NCAA Division II. The Middle Georgia College transfer carries a 3.50 GPA in business economics in his first year with the Pirates.
