Armstrong Baseball Edges Up In National Rankings

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The undefeated Armstrong Atlantic State University baseball squad moved up in a pair of Division II national polls on Monday. The Pirates are now ranked No. 21 in the Collegiate Baseball DII Top 30 Coaches' Poll and No. 23 in the Collegiate Baseball Lineup DII Top 30 poll.

The Pirates (6-0) moved up one spot in the Collegiate Baseball from No. 22 after this weekend's three-game sweep of Concord. Armstrong is one of four Peach Belt teams in the rankings, behind No. 5 Columbus State, No. 7 Francis Marion and No. 13 UNC Pembroke. The Pirates' opponent this weekend, Southern Indiana, comes in at No. 18 in the latest poll.

Armstrong takes on nationally-ranked Southern Indiana in a three-game series beginning on Friday with a 2:00 p.m. contest against the Screaming Eagles at Pirate Field.
