Pirates Ascend In National Rankings After Big Week

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Armstrong Atlantic State University baseball team climbed in a pair of national rankings after taking its third straight Peach Belt series win and going 4-1 in its last week of action. 

The Pirates (18-6) are No. 20 in the latest Collegiate Baseball Division II Top 30 Coaches' poll, moving up five spots from No. 25. Armstrong is one of five Peach Belt schools currently ranked in the poll, along with Lander (No. 2), USC Aiken (No. 10), Francis Marion (No. 23) and Columbus State (No. 24).

Armstrong moved up eight spots to No. 10 from No. 18 in the latest College Baseball Lineup DII rankings. The Pirates are one of five PBC teams in those rankings, ahead of No. 15 Lander, No. 18 Francis Marion, No. 24 Columbus State and No. 29 UNC Pembroke.

Armstrong returns to action on Thursday, March 22, visiting Augusta State for a non-conference contest against the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. at Lake Olmstead Stadium.
