Pirate Baseball Holds Steady In Pair Of National Rankings
SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Armstrong Atlantic State University baseball squad held steady in a pair of national rankings after last week's action as the Pirates check in at No. 17 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Top 30 coaches' poll and No. 9 in the College Baseball Lineup DII national rankings for a second straight week.
The Pirates (23-9) remain at No. 17 in the coaches' poll after going 3-2 last week with a Monday loss to Francis Marion, a mid-week win against Newberry and a series win at previously No. 9-ranked Lander over the weekend in Greenwood, S.C.
St. Mary's (Texas) is tied with West Chester atop this week's rankings, while USC Aiken - Armstrong's opponent this weekend in Peach Belt play - rises to No. 3. Tampa is No. 4, followed by Central Missouri rounding out the top five. Other PBC teams in the poll include Lander (No. 11), Francis Marion (No. 14) and Columbus State (No. 23).

In the College Baseball Lineup DII rankings, the Pirates held steady at No. 9 for a second straight week and are the top-ranked PBC team in the rankings.
Francis Marion is No. 16 in the poll, followed by Columbus State at No. 18, Lander at No. 20, USC Aiken at No. 25 and UNC Pembroke at No. 30.

Armstrong returns to action on Tuesday afternoon, facing Newberry College in a 6:00 p.m. contest in Newberry, S.C.
