Pirate Baseball Moves To No. 7 In Pair Of National Rankings

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Armstrong Atlantic State University baseball squad moved up in a pair of national polls again this week as the Pirates check in at No. 7 in both the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Top 30 coaches' poll and the College Baseball Lineup DII national rankings.
The Pirates (27-9) leap up 10 spots in the coaches' poll after a 4-0 week in which Armstrong swept a three-game Peach Belt Conference series from previous No. 3 USC Aiken.
Tampa takes over the top spot in the poll this week, while the Pirates the top Peach Belt team in the rankings. Other PBC teams in the poll include USC Aiken (No. 11), Francis Marion (No. 20), UNC Pembroke (No. 24) and Lander (No. 30).

In the College Baseball Lineup DII rankings, the Pirates moved up two spots from No. 9 and are the top-ranked PBC team in the rankings.
Francis Marion is No. 15, followed by UNC Pembroke at No. 24, Columbus State at No. 26 and Lander at No. 27.

Armstrong returns to action on Tuesday, April 10, visiting Pfeiffer for a 6:30 p.m. non-conference contest in Pembroke, N.C.
