Armstrong Men's Golf Ranked No. 19 In Preseason GCAA Top 25

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Armstrong Atlantic State University men's golf team is tied for 19th in the preseason Golf World/NIKE Top 25 Coaches' Poll, released by the Golf Coaches' Association of America on Wednesday.
The Pirates received 118 points in the poll and are tied with Fort Lewis. Abilene Christian tops the poll with three first-place votes and 382 points total, followed by Lynn (376), Chico State (370), Barry (368) and Central Oklahoma.
Armstrong advanced to the NCAA Championships in 2010-11 for the 10th straight season and the Pirates have been in every regional save one since reinstating the sport in 2000-01. The Pirates return seven players from last season's squad, including All-Peach Belt Conference senior Matt Motes.
Four other Peach Belt Conference schools appear in the poll with Columbus State coming in at No. 13, Georgia College at No. 14, USC Aiken at No. 18 and Flagler at No. 23. UNC Pembroke, Georgia Southwestern and North Georgia were other PBC schools receiving votes in the preseason poll.
