EATONTON, Ga. - The Armstrong State University men's golf team fired rounds of 300 and 302 to sit tied for 13th after the first day of action at the Georgia College Bobcat Invitational on Monday at Cuscowilla Golf Club in Eatonton, Ga.
The Pirates' two-round total of 602 is tied with Lander for 13th in the 17-team field. No. 5-ranked Lynn (567) leads the field by 13 strokes over top-ranked Saint Leo (580), with No. 6 Florida Southern (581) in third, No. 3-ranked Nova Southeastern (583) in fourth and Columbus State (584) in fifth.
Freshman Rickard Wallin leads the Pirate team scores individually after rounds of 76 and 73 for a 149 total, tying for 38th individually. Sophomore Reid Rathburn shot rounds of 73 and 78 to sit tied for 47th with a 151 total, while junior Jake O'Bryan shot rounds of 77 and 76 to sit tied for 62nd with a 153 total. Senior Howard Hickey shot rounds of 74 and 80 on Monday, tying for 66th with a 154 total and sophomore Tyler Key shot rounds of 84 and 75 to sit tied for 80th with a 159 total. Playing as an individual, sophomore Jacob Tinsley shot rounds of 74 and 72 for a 146 total, tying for 19th individually.
Play concludes in the GC Bobcat Individual on Tuesday with a single round of 18 holes beginning with tee times at 8:30 a.m.
