EATONTON, Ga. - The Armstrong State University men's golf team shot a final-round 301 to finish in 11th place at the GC Bobcat Invitational on Tuesday at Cuscowilla Golf Club in Eatonton, Ga.
The Pirates' three-day 903 total placed the Pirates 11th in the 18-team field. Lynn (864) captured the team title by nine strokes over Florida Southern (873), with Barry (874) in third and West Florida and Nova Southeastern each tied for fourth with 875 totals.
Freshman Rickard Wallin shot a 76 on Tuesday to finish in 37th place individually with a 225 total, leading the Pirates' team scores. Junior Jake O'Bryan shot a 74 to finish tied for 43rd with a 227 total, while senior Howard Hickey also shot a 74 to finish tied for 47th with a 228 total. Sophomore Reid Rathbrun shot a 78 to finish in 52nd place individually with a 229 total and sophomore Tyler Key shot a 77 to finish tied for 77th with a 236 total. Playing as an individual, sophomore Jacob Tinsley shot a second straight 72 to finish tied for 10th with a 218 total.
Armstrong State will now prepare for the 2016 Peach Belt Conference Championships, to be played on April 15-17 at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Fla.
