Men's Golf Finishes Tied For Fifth At Kiawah Island Invitational

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - The Armstrong State University men's golf team fired a final-round 298 to finish tied for fifth at the Kiawah Island Invitational on Tuesday at the Osprey Point Golf Course in Kiawah Island, S.C.

The Pirates finished the two-day tournament with a seven-over-par 583 total. Rollins (569) captured the team title by three strokes over Valdosta State (572), with Coker (581) and Lincoln Memorial (582) third and fourth respectively. Armstrong State finished tied with Limestone at 583.

Freshman Austin Mancilla finished his first collegiate tournament with an even-par 72 to place third individually with a four-under-par 140 total, just three strokes out of first. Freshman Spencer Ball shot a final-round 76 to finish tied for 18th with a one-over-par 145 total in his collegiate debut, while junior Ryan Emery also shot a 76 to finish tied for 42nd with a four-over-par 148 total in his first tournament as a Pirate.

Junior Reid Rathburn carded a 75 on Tuesday to finish tied for 61st with a seven-over-par 151 total, as did junior Jacob Tinsley, whose 75 also placed him tied for 61st with a 151 total.

Armstrong State returns to action on September 19-20 at the Saint Leo Fall Invitational in Dade City, Fla.
