Pirates Eighth After First Day Of Saint Leo Men's Golf Fall Invitational

DADE CITY, Fla. - The Armstrong State University men's golf team shot rounds of 291 and 296 to sit in eighth place after the first day of action in the Saint Leo Fall Invitational at the Lake Jovita Golf Club in Dade City, Fla.

The Pirates' two-round 587 total is 29 strokes behind team leader Florida Southern (558), who leads by 17 strokes over Limestone (575), with Florida Tech and Carson-Newman tied for third with 577 totals. USC Aiken (579) rounded out the top five teams in the 12-team field.

Individually, reigning PBC Golfer of the Week and freshman Austin Mancilla carded rounds of 73 and 70 to sit tied for 12th with a one-under-par 143 total, while freshman Spencer Ball is tied for 23rd after rounds of 70 and 75 for a one-over-par 145 total.

Junior Jacob Tinsley is tied for 33rd with a four-over-par 148 total after shooting consecutive rounds of 74 on Monday. Senior Jake O'Bryan is tied for 51st with a 153 total after rounds of 76 and 77, as is junior Ryan Emery, who shot rounds of 74 and 79 for his 153 score.

Playing as individuals, junior Reid Rathburn shot consecutive rounds of 70 to sit tied for sixth with a four-under-par 140 total, while junior Andrew Burgess is tied for 60th after rounds of 83 and 72 for a 155 total.

Play concludes at the Saint Leo Invitational with a final round of 18 holes with tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m.
