Men's Golf Finishes Tied For 14th At NCAA DII Preview In Florida

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Armstrong State University men's golf team shot a final-round 297 to finish tied for 14th at the NCAA DII Preview on Tuesday at the Reunion Resort & Spa's Watson Course in Florida.

Lynn (845) captured the team title by four strokes over Florida Southern (849), with West Florida (855), Missouri St. Louis (859) in third and fourth, respectively. Barry and tournament host Saint Leo each shot 861 totals to tie for fifth in the 18-team field. The Pirates finished the three-round tournament with an 890 score, tied with Colorado - Colorado Springs.

Freshman Spencer Ball carded a 77 on Tuesday to finish tied for 41st with a 220 total, leading the Pirates individually. Freshman Austin Mancilla carded the tournament's best round for the Pirates, shooting a three-under-par 69 to finish tied for 50th with a 221 total. Freshman Max Trydefeldt finished his first collegiate tournament with a 75 on Tuesday to finish tied for 56th with a 222 total.

Junior Jacob Tinsley shot a final-round 76 to finish tied for 71st with a 228 total, while junior Reid Rathburn carded a 92 to finish in 95th place with a 248 total.

Armstrong State will play its final tournament of the Fall season on October 10-11 at the Guy Harvey Invitational in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
