VALDOSTA, Ga. - The Armstrong State University men's golf team shot a final-round 303 to finish 15th at the 2017 First Federal Southeastern Collegiate, hosted by Valdosta State University at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta on Tuesday.
The Pirates' three-day 922 total placed them 15th in the 18-team field, staying in the same place in the team standings after the final day of action. West Florida (869) captured the team title by 14 strokes over Barry (883), with Lynn (884), Florida Tech (888) and Florida Southern (889) rounding out the top five schools.
Junior Jacob Tinsley shot a final-round 73 to finish tied for 49th individually with a 230 total. Junior Gustav Beckvid also finished tied for 49th with a 230 total after Tuesday's round of 78. Senior Jake O'Bryan carded an 81 to finish tied for 73rd with a 235 total. Junior Tyler Key also finished tied for 73rd with a 235 total after his final round of 77. Freshman Spencer Ball carded a 75 to finish tied for 77th with a 236 total.
Armstrong State returns to action on March 20-21, competing at the 2017 Georgia College Bobcat Invitational in Eatonton, Ga.
