EATONTON, Ga. - The Armstrong State University men's golf team shot rounds of 306 and 312 to sit in 14th place after the first day of the 2017 GC Bobcat Invitational, held at Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee in Eatonton, Ga., on Monday.
The Pirates' two-round 618 score is 14th out of the 17-team field, currently paced by Lynn (580). West Florida (586) is six strokes back, with North Alabama (592), Nova Southeastern (595) and Lander (598) rounding out the top five teams in the field.
Freshman Spencer Ball leads the Pirates individually, shooting rounds of 74 and 76 to sit tied for 22nd with a 150 total. Senior Jake O'Bryan is tied for 54th after rounds of 78 and 77 for a 155 total, while junior Gustav Beckvid is tied for 59th after rounds of 77 and 79 for a 156 total.
Junior Jacob Tinsley is tied for 66th after rounds of 77 and 80 for a 157 total, while junior Reid Rathburn is tied for 74th with rounds of 79 and 80 for a 159 total. Playing as an individual, junior Ryan Emery is tied for 44th with rounds of 79 and 74 for a 153 total.
Play concludes at the GC Bobcat Invitational on Tuesday with a single round of 18 holes.
