Pirates Finish 17th At GC Bobcat Invitational On Tuesday

EATONTON, Ga. - The Armstrong State University men's golf team shot a final-round 316 to finish in 17th place at the 2017 Georgia College Bobcat Invitational at Cuscowilla on Tuesday in Eatonton, Ga.

The Pirates' three-day 934 total placed them 17th out of the 17-team field. Lynn (872) captured the team title by six strokes over West Florida (878), with Lander (883), North Alabama (886) and Nova Southeastern (888) rounding out the top five teams.

Freshman Spencer Ball shot a final-round 81 to finish tied for 52nd with a 231 total, pacing the Pirate team players individually. Senior Jake O'Bryan shot a 78 to finish tied for 61st with a 233 total, while junior Gustav Beckvid shot an 80 to finish tied for 74th with a 236 total. Junior Jacob Tinsley also shot an 80 on Tuesday, finishing tied for 76th with a 237 total.

Junior Reid Rathburn tied for 76th as well after a final-round 78 with his 237 total. Playing as an individual, junior Ryan Emery shot a 75 to finish tied for 43rd with a 228 total.

Armstrong State returns to action on April 3-4 at the UWF Argonaut Cup in Pensacola, Fla.
