Armstrong Softball Moves To No. 7 In NFCA Top 25 Poll


SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Armstrong Atlantic State University softball team moved up three spots to No. 7 with today's release of the NFCA Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll.

The Pirates (35-8) stretched their current win streak to nine with a pair of Peach Belt Conference doubleheader sweeps last week. Armstrong is one of three Peach Belt teams that appear in the rankings as North Georgia (31-7) is No. 13 and Augusta State (28-8) is No. 19.

Armstrong currently sits atop the Peach Belt Conference standings with an 11-1 record and this is the fourth week in this season in which the Pirates have been ranked among the Top 10 as Armstrong was No. 6 in the February 29th poll, No. 8 in the March 7th poll and No. 10 last week.

Armstrong returns to action on Saturday, April 7th, traveling to Flagler for a 2:00 p.m. Peach Belt Conference doubleheader with the Saints in St. Augustine, Fla.
