Women's Golf Seventh At 12th Annual Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Armstrong Atlantic State University women's golf team shot a first-round 323 to sit in seventh place after the first round of the 12th Annual LRU/Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate on Monday afternoon at the Sea Trail Golf Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The Pirates are 16 strokes off the lead 307 score fired by Tusculum, with Carson-Newman (311), Tarleton State (312), Lincoln Memorial (312) and UNC Pembroke (314) rounding out the top five of the 21-team field.
Senior Kim Knox paced the Pirates in the first round with a 78, tying for 17th individually. Sophomore Kristen Sammarco carded a 79 and is in 23rd place individually, while junior Kelly Pearce and senior Victoria Bennett each shot rounds of 83 to tie for 43rd individually. Sophomore Rebecca Goldman rounded out the Armstrong scoring on Monday with an 84, tying for 53rd individually.
Play concludes at the LRU/Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate with a single round of 18 holes on Tuesday.
