Jenna Birch Tied For Sixth At Marsh Landing Intercollegiate


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Armstrong Atlantic State University sophomore Jenna Birch shot rounds of 77 and 72 on Monday to sit tied for sixth at the Marsh Landing Intercollegiate, hosted by Jacksonville University.

Playing as an individual for the Pirates in an attempt to get enough rounds played to qualify for the NCAA postseason this year, Birch is nine strokes behind individual leader Alex Buelow of Stetson, who shot rounds of 71 and 69 for a 140 total. Andrea Malek of Cincinnati is second individually, five strokes behind after rounds of 74 and 71 for a 145 total, while Anna Wiklund of Florida Atlantic is third at 72-74=146.

Mallory Viera of Stetson is fourth (70-77=147), followed by Lauren Cate of Stetson (74-74=148). Birch's 149 total is tied with Jessica Welch of Jacksonville and Sammi Smith of Stetson for sixth individually in the 55-player field.

Stetson leads the team field by 21 strokes over Cincinnati.

Birch will tee off in the final round of the Marsh Landing Intercollegiate at 9:12 a.m. off of Hole 10 on Tuesday, wrapping up action in the tournament.
