ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Armstrong State University sophomores Sophie Bargeron and Nikita Arjun were each named to the 2016 All-Peach Belt Conference Women's Golf squad on Thursday evening at the league's annual awards banquet.
A sophomore from London, England, Bargeron earned a spot on the first team for leading the Pirates and ranking seventh in the PBC in stroke average at 77.47. She has collected five Top 20 finishes in her seven tournaments this season, including a season-best fourth-place finish at the Armstrong Pirate Women's Invitational on February 29th-March 1st. This is her first PBC All-Conference honor after making All-PBC Tournament honors as a freshman.
Arjun, meanwhile, earned a spot on the second team for carrying a 77.71 stroke average, ranking eighth in the Peach Belt. She has three Top 10 finishes this season, including a fourth-place finish at the Lander Lady Bearcat on September 26-27, as well as a fifth-place finish at the Tusculum/Kiawah Island Intercollegiate on February 6-7. The sophomore from Bangalore, India, also had five Top 20 finishes in her nine tournaments this year.
