Women's Golf Tied For Fourth In Battle At Old South Saturday

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The Armstrong State University women's golf team fired a first-round 296 to sit just four strokes off the lead in the Battle at Old South on Saturday at the Old South Golf Club in Hilton Head Island, S.C.

The Pirates are tied with Young Harris College with a 296 score, four strokes behind Saint Leo (292). UNC Pembroke (293) and Montevallo (295) are ahead of Armstrong State in the 18-team field. The final round of action is on Sunday with tee times beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Juniors Sophie Bargeron and Nikita Arjun each shot one-over-par 73 totals and are tied for 10th individually after Saturday's action. Freshman Eva Martinez Calavia shot a two-over-par 74 and is tied for 13th, while freshman Megan shot a 76 and is tied for 33rd.

Sophomore Jaycee Bunner shot a 78 and is tied for 49th, rounding out the Pirate team scores. Playing as an individual, senior Molly Molyneaux carded a 74 and is tied for 13th.
