DADE CITY, Fla. - The Armstrong State University women's golf team shot a final-round 300 to finish seventh at the 2016 Saint Leo Fall Invitational at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club on Tuesday in Dade City, Fla.
The nine-stroke improvement from the Pirates' first-round 309 score moved Armstrong State up one spot from eighth to seventh, finishing the tournament with a 609 score. Host Saint Leo (571) captured the tournament by 15 strokes over Lynn (568), with Florida Tech (588) finishing third out of the 13-team field and three teams - Barry, West Georgia and Flagler - tying for fourth with 590 scores.
Freshman Eva Martinez Calavia carded an even-par 72 on Tuesday to finish tied for 21st with a 150 score, while junior Sophie Bargeron shot a one-over-par 73 to also finish tied for 21st with a 150 score. Junior Nikita Arjun shot a final-round 76 to finish tied for 36th with a 154 total.
Sophomore Jaycee Bunner shot an 82 to finish tied for 49th with a 158 total, while senior Molly Molyneaux shot a 79 to finish tied for 57th with a 161 total. Playing as an individual, sophomore Bailey Buie carded a 77 to finish tied for 49th with a 158 total.
Armstrong State will wrap up its Fall season by competing at the Flagler College Fall Slam on October 24-25 in St. Augustine, Fla.
