Pirates Move Up Two Spots, Finish Ninth At FSC Grasslands Invitational

LAKELAND, Fla. - The Armstrong State University women's golf team shot a final-round 307 to move up two spots and finish tied for ninth at the FSC Grasslands Invitational, hosted by Florida Southern College, on Tuesday.

The Pirates' three-round 927 total tied them with Lynn for ninth in the 18-team field. Barry (895) captured the team title by three strokes over Saint Leo (898), with Rollins (900), host Florida Southern (903) and West Florida (911) rounding out the top five schools.

Junior Sophie Bargeron carded a final-round 79 on Tuesday to finish tied for 17th individually with a 227 total. Freshman Eva Martinez Calavia had the best round of the day for the Pirates with an even-par 72 to finish tied for 24th with a 229 total. Junior Nikita Arjun shot a 78 to finish tied for 29th with a 230 total.

Sophomore Bailey Buie also carded a 78 to finish tied for 77th, while senior Molly Molyneaux rounded out the Pirates' scoring with an 82, finishing tied for 83rd with a 252 total.

Armstrong State will return to action on March 6-7, hosting the Armstrong State Pirate Women's Invitational at Savannah Quarters Country Club in Pooler, Ga.
