POOLER, Ga. - Dallas Baptist University fired a final-round 290 to capture the 2017 Armstrong Pirate Women's Golf Invitational by 15 strokes after Tuesday's final day of action at Savannah Quarters Country Club in Pooler, Ga.
The Patriots finished the tournament with a three-round 877 total, 15 strokes better than Saint Leo (892), with West Florida (902), Florida Tech (904) and host Armstrong State (917) rounding out the top five schools in the 12-team field.
Individually, Dallas Baptist sported the top two finishers as Addison Mitchell carded a final-round even-par 72 for a two-under-par 214 total, edging out teammate Sarah Kim by two strokes. Kim also had an even-par 72 on Tuesday to finish the tournament with an even-par 216 score.
For the host Pirates, junior Nikita Arjun shot a one-under-par 71 on Tuesday to finish the tournament tied for fifth with a six-over-par 222 total. Junior Sophie Bargeron carded a 77 on Tuesday to finish tied for 13th with a 226 total, while freshman Eva Martinez Calavia shot a 78 to finish tied for 17th with a 228 total. Sophomore Bailey Buie shot a final-round 87 to finish tied for 53rd with a 251 total, while senior Molly Molyneaux carded an 80 to finish tied for 55th with a 252 total.
Playing as individuals, sophomore Jaycee Bunner shot an 82 to finish 42nd with a 242 total; freshman Megan Sabol carded an 81 to finish tied for 43rd with a 243 total; junior Nathalia Baigorria carded an 87 to finish 50th with a 248 total.
