Lutzeier's Bracket Win Highlights Final Day Of USC Upstate Invitational For Pirates

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Junior Lena Lutzeier's singles bracket title highlighted the final day of action for the Armstrong State University women's tennis team at the USC Upstate Fall Invitational on Sunday in Spartanburg, S.C.

Lutzeier defeated Danni Vines of Furman, 6-3, 6-4, to capture the Green Singles bracket title for the Pirates. 

In other singles action, Furman's Katarina Kozarov defeated freshman Paula Roca Boixader, 6-3, 6-1, in the Black Singles bracket final. 

Doubles action saw the duo of Lutzeier and Roca fall to the Chattanooga duo of Edwards and Patton, 6-4, in the Green Dobules bracket.

However, the duo of sophomore Alice Patch and freshman Tajtana Stoll won the consolation Black Doubles bracket with a 6-1 win over Webb and Taranto of Western Carolina.

Armstrong State returns to action on September 29th at the ITA Southeast Regionals in Sumter, S.C.
