Armstrong Volleyball Finishes Season Ranked No. 25

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Armstrong Atlantic State University volleyball squad finishes the 2011 season ranked No. 25 in the final AVCA Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll, released today by the organization.

The Pirates (36-3) also end the 2011 season by being ranked in the last 11 polls. It is the third season in which Armstrong has finished the year nationally-ranked, joining the 2000 team (No. 24) and the 2004 team (No. 21).

Armstrong captured the 2011 Peach Belt Conference regular season championship, earned a fourth straight NCAA Championships bid and advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Southeast Regional during another successful season. Head coach Will Condon was named the AVCA Southeast Region Coach of the Year and junior Brittany Wolf was the PBC Player of the Year as well as an AVCA Third Team All-American.

The Pirates join Flagler (No. 14) as Peach Belt Conference teams to appear in the final poll.

Armstrong returns 15 players from last season's squad for 2012, including Wolf and AVCA All-Region outside hitter Jessica Santaniello.
